The CSU Game Developers Association is a Registered Student Organization at Colorado State University with the goal of providing a creative space for students to collaborate for the purpose of creating video games. CSU GDA was founded in Fall 2017, and continues on!
Some reasons why we're great:
Project Sirius is a 2D platformer called Snow White and the 7. We approached this project with better scope and scale. Although the game is fairly short, it is a fair testament to our ability to create a playable game in just a semester.
After your spaceship ran out of StarFuel in the empty space between your home galaxy and the next, you have to leap into action and collect stars to power it up and continue your journey.
Unfortunately, in the empty space between galaxies, there isn’t all that much oxygen, so you have to keep running in circles around your ship so that your suit can collect enough to keep you alive.
Collect all twelve of the stars floating around your ship to power it back up and get to your grandmother’s house in time for dinner.
Spaceloop is a fast-paced Runner-Roguelike requiring quick collection of items to avoid being sent back to the beginning.
Use the arrow keys to move and the spacebar to jump. Be careful, if you get behind or fall off of the platforms you will have to start over.
You can loop around your ship as many times as it takes to collect all of the stars.
Made as a team by members of the CSU Game Developers Association in 49ish hours with no pre-made assets.
We used Unity with Visual Studio, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Project Vega was the first game we designed and developed. The goal here was to make a 3D Roguelike in a futuristic setting. What we set out to do in a semester turned into a small tech demo (see above). Given more time, we would have flushed this one out!
